Ward H – Edmonton Public School Board
Election Day: October 20, 2025

Get To Know Me

Hi, I’m Edison Li, and I’m running to be your Edmonton Public School Board Trustee for Ward H.

I’m a graduate of Edmonton Public Schools, a community advocate, and someone who believes that strong leadership means building real connections between students, families, and the school system. I currently lead a student group that brings together over 100 youth weekly—an experience that’s taught me how to listen first, and lead by building bridges, not barriers.

I also co-founded AideLink, a non-profit that connects newcomer families—especially those with special needs children—to qualified educational aides. We’ve helped families navigate the school system, break down language barriers, and access the support they need to thrive in the classroom.

From working in respite care and tutoring, to helping run summer camps and mentoring youth, I’ve worked closely with families across Edmonton’s socioeconomic and cultural spectrum. These experiences have shown me how schools can either open doors—or leave people behind.

Ward H is one of the fastest-growing parts of the city, but it remains the smallest ward in EPSB by number of schools. Overcrowding, limited programming options, and the lack of local high school spaces are challenges families face every day. I’m running to help change that.

As your trustee, I’ll focus on:

  • Reflect the diversity of the communities they serve

  • Prioritize mental health and student well-being

  • Ensure teachers and staff have the resources they need

  • Build bridges between parents, educators, and trustees—not walls

Let’s build a future where every student in Ward H can learn, belong, and succeed—together.

Empowering Our Student's Voices

In Edmonton's schools, every student carries not just their backpack, but their beliefs, traditions, and sacred values. Yet too often, some voices remain silent and some students feel they must choose between their faith and their full participation in school life. We envision a future where every student – regardless of their religious or cultural background – can speak their truth with confidence, knowing their perspective enriches our entire educational community. This isn't just about inclusion – it's about building a stronger future for all our children.
